Top Three Coffee Shops

Seeing as coffee and my friends are the only things giving me the will to live through this school term, I decided to do a mini review of three of my favourite coffee spots in PE, because who doesn’t love a recommendation from a self proclaimed caffeine addict?

For starters, I treated my grumpy sister to a coffee date at Boccodillos on 6th Avenue. Their coffee is decent but their red velvet cake is what dreams are made of. Jami ordered a delicious smoothie and a salted caramel tart which was divine as well, although you need a sweet tooth to get through the whole thing.

Next up I took my friend Thembi and her boyfriend Niels to Charlie’s in Summerstand. Thembs inspired the name Chasing Chelsea for my blog, so she deserved the treat. Their coffee is enjoyable, I always have a cappuccino or a hot chocolate, but their chocolate brownie and berry pudding was a little bit disappointing. They do have very yummy freshly squeezed juices and smoothies though!

Lastly, I took my hairdresser/one of my best friends, Mel to the Friendly Stranger. I LOVE this spot, I think its so cute and the perfect place to catch up with friends or have a romantic date because its super secluded and adorable. Its also right down the road from where Mel works (at Shag High Voltage Hair – the best salon in town), in the Baakens Valley. I had the best slice of carrot cake in the entire world at the Friendly Stranger and their coffee is incredibly tasty too.

These are just three of many places to refuel your caffeine tank in PE, so next time you’ve got time to spare, grab a loved one and treat them!
